Several environmental issues have been presented today, among which we highlight: the growing worldwide energy demand, the need to reduce the concentration of CO2 in the air, and the removal of organic pollutants from domestic and industrial effluents.
Technological developments to solve these issues must take into consideration sustainability, environmental impact, and energy cost.
Therefore, the group focuses on the study of inorganic nanomaterials (synthesized by microwave-assisted routes) capable of using sunlight as an energy source to perform photo(electro)catalytic processes aiming at green hydrogen production, CO2 reduction, and organic matter degradation.
