Following the principles of green chemistry, the group has focused on the development of green systems, prepared by green routes and with green applications.
Green systems: inorganic nanomaterials prepared by the group are composed of non-toxic or low-toxic species.
Green preparation routes: the nanomaterials are prepared by microwave-assisted synthesis, which allows drastically reduced reaction time compared to conventional heating techniques. As a result, these syntheses have a very low energy cost. In addition, the group takes care to always select green solvents for the syntheses.
Green applications: the inorganic nanomaterials obtained are applied in the production of green hydrogen, in CO2 photoconversion, in the photodegradation of organic substrates from wastewater, and in the production of polymeric nanocomposites with low toxicity and fast deconstruction.
